Happy Holidays
It’s the season for families, friends, celebrations, and too much food and drink.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel with my husband on the Queen Mary 2 making our way back to the United States over 7 days. With little internet connection, lots of show tunes, and time to read and stare at the expanse of the Atlantic.
We’ve never gone on a cruise and don’t think or ourselves as “cruisers” but we decided to opt out of long airport lines and airport transfers for the luxury of slow travel. I don’t drink alcohol anymore so the call of the fancy restaurant fare and desserts is what I fight. The gym, library, and lounge chairs with views are my current home and I’ve packed pencils and watercolors to trade off times with the books I have to read.
It is cushy but still an adventure…
…to find our way on board, meet new people (the introvert in me is squeamish), and try new things aboard the ship. And best of all we come into the New York harbor at dawn and get to visit family we haven’t seen in so long.
MY HOLIDAY HOPES…
I hope you are enjoying the food, festivities, and family (original or adopted)- this holiday season.
I hope you can slow down, indulge (a little) in yummy foods, and relax with hobbies and passions.
I hope you embark on your own holiday adventures- cushy, daring, big or small.
I do have a wish on my Christmas wish-list.
