Labor of Love
Those who know me, know I love the poet, Mary Oliver. I often read her poetry as inspiration before beginning a new painting. Today I came across her words: “Keep room in your heart for the unimaginable.” Isn’t this the job of artists? and everyone, really? To push the imagination to new places. Unfortunately, I’m often an “over thinker” and this website has been rumbling around my mind for a long while. But often ideas pop up into our imagination well before the action might ever take place. It’s been a labor of love to catch up on some of the needed skills (and I emphasize only -some skills) to unveil an online website.
For a long while I’ve used Facebook and Instagram to share my journey and practice of painting with friends. But now I want to let you in on new projects and works. I want you to share with more friends so the community circle can grow. I’ve wanted to make it easy for everyone to purchase original works and find my prints and products on sale online.
Like my daily practice of sketching and painting, now the technology and business skills are part of my weekly practice. I love painting, creating, and teaching and now I hope you’ll enjoy my blogs, project updates, and shop items. I ask for patience as I learn and grow and, of course, let me know what you think, and which works interest you. 2023 was a personally challenging year for me as I faced cancer and made decisions about work during that time. 2024 is about building back my health, life, and love for creativity. We can all build our lives with love at any age- build our strength, stamina, artwork, community, and relationships.
So I hope you’ll join me…to follow our dreams and new goals it’s best we start by making room in our hearts for the unimaginable.
